July 14, 2015 – The Unity Gong reaches its journey’s end
After days of endless roads, scorching heat, strong winds, heavy rains, and thick mountain fogs, the unity gong finally travels to its final stop to where its journey began to unite the provinces and cities of the Cordillera region.
Leaving the Provincial Capitol of Abra early in the morning of July 14 at around 6:45 am, it reached the boundary arch of Pudtol, Apayao after around 8 long hours where it was warmly welcomed and officially accepted by the contingents of Apayao.
After the turnover beating at around 3:15 pm it took a quick trip and rested in the Provincial Capitol of Luna, Apayao and awaited its moment in the limelight of its culminating day.
In the evening, the first ever Search for Dayag ti Cordillera was also held at the Sports Complex of Luna, Apayao. The very first to win the title of Dayag ti Cordillera was Ms. Benguet, and the runner-ups were won by Ms. Apayao on second place and Ms. Ifugao on third place.
