In 2014, there had been an endeavor to engage beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program of DSWD, this is through the development of a Cordillera Autonomy Module that will be integrated as part of DSWD’s monthly conduct of its Family Development Sessions (FDS) for the 4Ps grantees. DSWD identified a total of 59,514 household grantees of the CCT all throughout CAR.
So far, the first session of the pilot-testing for the development of the autonomy module has been successfully accomplished, wherein Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet was selected as the location for the pilot-testing not only due to its proximity but also there have been no information campaign conducted yet in the area.
The module was drafted by various members from the partner agencies of RDC, and if the development of the autonomy module succeeds, it will be continuously integrated as part of the DSWDs monthly FDS.
Poverty reduction has been one of the primary reasons for the renewed pursuit for regional autonomy, hence it is imperative that those who are most likely to be affected needs to gain sufficient understanding of the issue.
